Pups to Adults
See the Transformation—What Your Royal Will Look Like Grown Up!
We know it can be hard to imagine what a Royal Frenchel puppy will look like as a full-grown adult. That’s why we’ve created this visual guide, showing real Royals from puppyhood to maturity—so you can get a clear picture of what to expect as your companion grows.
Below, you’ll find examples of Royals across all four sizes: Super Micro, Micro, Small, and Regular. Click on a specific size or explore them all!

Growth, Size & What to Expect
Royal Frenchels grow in a very special way. The smaller the Royal, the slower they mature—and that’s a good thing. A slower maturation rate is linked to longer lifespans. That’s why Super Micro and Micro Mini Royals often live 14 to 18 years!
Height and length (floor to shoulder and nape to tail base) are the most reliable size indicators—not weight.
Weight varies based on muscle tone and feeding routines, especially in adult life.
All Royals reach their full height and length by around 9 months, with their head structure completing around 12 months. Then, they slowly “beef out” over the next 2–3 years.
One Breed, Four Sizes—Same Heart
No matter the size, every Royal Frenchel shares the same loving temperament, great health, and intuitive companionship that makes this breed so special. Each size brings a different level of sturdiness and visual maturity, but all Royals are bred to be joyful, emotionally intelligent, and easy to live with.
