Puppy Travel
TRAVEL SAFETY We have been doing this for many years and have never had problems. All of our puppies arrive to their new homes happy, safe and well cared for. Puppies are shipped in pressurized cabins and travel on days and at hours when there is full staffing only. This can shift the date of travel at times as we check to see if the airline has all personnel online. We don’t want to have any of our pets neglected due to some of the cut backs on staffing airlines. WHAT DETERMINES PUPPY READINESS FOR FLIGHT This is dependent on the maturity of the puppy and is determined on a case by case basis. Some puppies are ready as young as 8 weeks, others not until they are 12 weeks. We find that, on average, most puppies are ready by 10 weeks. We will only ship a puppy after we’ve assessed their health, socialization, personality and overall stability to insure they are ready. SPECIAL PREPARATION BEFORE FLIGHT A day prior to travel, your puppy is given extra food and water and nourished with a special blend of electrolytes, vitamins and minerals to fill them out for their trip so they stay healthy and full during flight should they decide to eat or drink lightly. HOW IS THE PUPPY SHIPPED Your puppy is shipped in a sturdy crate that has a blanket and padding, toy, food, water and a special mesh screen covering the door that creates a den like experience for the puppy. Once at the airport and ready to board, the crate is sealed with a special plastic that is impossible to open until they arrive safely to you. The crate is marked clearly with your information on it with a tag attached to the handle. All the forms and paperwork you need for your puppy will be provided to you in the envelope taped to the top of the crate. The cost for shipping is added to your final bill, or paid by you ahead of time directly to the airline or by other special arrangements
