When dogs are born they are calm & peaceful, balanced & fulfilled. Their mom is always calm but assertive. She sets rules & boundaries for her pack of puppies & they feel safe & protected by her leadership. She corrects them with a gentle bite or touch with her mouth if they exceed her rules or boundaries. She is never anxious, frustrated or angry. She never punishes her pack. Her corrections are to teach them the rules. In the wild, as they grow older, puppy training is taken over by the older pack members, & the entire pack is led by the Pack Leader. Pack Leader sets the rules, boundaries & limitations for the stability of the pack. There is order & organization within the pack. Pack animals must have leadership to feel safe, secure, fulfilled & balanced. It is only after living with humans, who use human psychology on their dogs, that dogs become unstable & insecure. Dog psychology is very different from human psychology. The lack of leadership causes domestic dogs to develop behavior issues. A dog accepts his/her human family as his pack, but he still needs a Pack Leader. If the humans do not take on this role your dog will. This is where the problems begin. Your dog just wants to be a pack member, he/she doesn’t want the responsibility of being Pack Leader, he doesn’t know how to be a leader, but his instincts tell him that his pack (family) needs a leader & he is forced to take on the role because no one else is stepping up. This causes fear, anxiety & stress on a daily basis for your dog. Now your dog starts setting the rules.
All of the love & affection in the world cannot correct or cure your dog’s behavior issues. The issues are caused by the daily stress, anxiety & responsibility of your dog trying to cope with his leadership role. Until you can remove this stress, your dog suffers mentally, emotionally & even physically. It is time to return the favor to our precious, precious companions. I take a natural approach to dog training. I focus on stopping your dogs unwanted behavior using dog psychology & their natural instincts. I teach you the meaning of your dog’s behavior and how to relate to your dog in a way that increases their sense of security and well being. This, in turn, reduces and stops your dog’s unwanted behavior and improves the quality of life for both of you. In essence, I teach you how to “fulfill your dog’s needs” which allows your dog to feel balanced, safe & secure, within his human pack. This is our payback to them, fulfilling their needs. I offer private in home sessions where we get better and faster results for you and your dog when you are learning in your environment. I also offer basic dog obedience & new puppy training.
